I'm a proud father of two adult children and happily engaged at the age of 50. My beloved dog Aspen is a gorgeous Shepsky - a designer breed that combines the best qualities of an Alaskan Husky and a German Shepherd. Although half-husky, Aspen is surprisingly quiet and has the beautiful coat pattern of a German Shepherd. Her personality, however, is quite wild and scent-oriented like a Husky. Nonetheless, she is task-oriented like a German Shepherd, making her easy to train and focus.
I have a great interest in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, overlanding, and dog sledding. Photography and off-roading are my hobbies. Unfortunately, due to my health, some of my outdoor activities have become challenging. Nevertheless, I have several other hobbies, including reading, writing, restoring my 1978 Mustang, building PCs, network designing, and software programming. Although fascinating, these are not the focus of this blog.
My father-in-law introduced me to off-roading a few years ago, where we would often head up to AF Canyon or 5-mile Pass in his old Jeep YJ Wrangler. After my coma in 2015, we spent a couple of years exploring the trails and having fun almost every weekend of the summer. My fiancé and I even joined him in Moab every Easter to experience some of the trails there. In 2021, I traded in my 2012 Ford Mustang GT Convertible for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X.
